Wolverhampton Wanderers could be set for a 'busy summer' under Julen Lopetegui that could yield major changes at Molineux, according to journalist Alex Crook.

As per Football Insider, Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes is attracting interest from Liverpool despite the Old Gold choosing to remove a £44 million release clause inserted into his contract at Molineux.

The report also states that Wolves 'remain realistic' over their chances of being able to keep the Portuguese midfielder and would likely accept a bid of £50 million for his services.

As per The Telegraph, club captain Ruben Neves could also be set to move on this summer, with Wolves set to demand a fee in the region of £40 million before considering sanctioning his departure, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona all monitoring his situation.

Wolves winger Adama Traore is out of contract at the end of this term and his agent Jorge Mendes has recently offered him to Serie A giants AC Milan, according to Calciomercato.

Veteran duo Diego Costa and Joao Moutinho are also set to see their deals in the West Midlands expire upon the conclusion of 2022/23 alongside full-back Nelson Semedo, as per FootballTransfers, raising questions over whether they will also need to be replaced heading into next term.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist Crook thinks that Wolves boss Lopetegui will be given financial support to help reshape his squad in the summer.

Crook said: "They've got Moutinho who I think will go, Traore's out of contract, so if Neves goes, that's three of the old guard that will have moved on. I'm not sure you'll get much more out of Costa.

"I think it could be a busy summer of ins and outs. This is the first summer transfer window under Julen Lopetegui.

"My understanding when they appointed him is that they told him he'd be backed in the transfer market, which they did in January, so I think he would expect to be backed again."

The Reds look set for a busy transfer window this summer following a disappointing 2022/23 season which has resulted in no silverware and a late push for European football. Central midfield additions are thought to be at the top of the club’s wishlist, with FSG and Jurgen Klopp potentially making up to five signings ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

The likes of Chelsea's Mason Mount, Bayern Munich's Ryan Gravenberch and Brighton's Alexis Mac Allister have all been linked with moves to Merseyside to bolster Klopp's midfield options, but it looks as if Franca is a new target at Anfield, with an update emerging in the last 48 hours.

Brazilian outlet Torcedores shared a story regarding Franca, claiming he is considered one of the most coveted players in the football market. The report suggests that the player is in the sights of Liverpool, as well as Premier League rivals Arsenal and Crystal Palace.

Arsenal are trying to steal a march in the race for Franca’s services, with the player having a €185m (£163m) release clause in his contract which runs until 2027.

Tottenham Hotspur have made progress in their talks with Julian Nagelsmann, and he is now ready to accept the manager's job, according to recent reports from Germany.

Having left his role as Bayern Munich manager, Nagelsmann has been linked with a move to the Premier League, being named as Tottenham's preferred choice, however at one stage a move did not look likely.

Now, the 35-year-old is said to have pulled out of the race to take over at Stamford Bridge, with Fabrizio Romano detailing that will be his "final decision", in what could be a major boost to Spurs' chances.

According to a report from BILD (via Sport Witness), the young manager has previously turned down the opportunity to take over at Tottenham, but he may now have changed his mind.

Spurs showed an interest in appointing the former Bayern Munich boss immediately after he was sacked by the Bundesliga club, but he rebuffed their advances, insisting that he wanted some time out of the game.

The Lilywhites are now said to have moved ahead of Chelsea in the race for the Landsberg Am Lech-born tactician, and he would now be ready to accept the job, although complex negotiations would need to take place beforehand.

Should Tottenham appoint Julian Nagelsmann?

Former manager Antonio Conte was much-maligned by the media for a "boring" brand of football during his time with Spurs, and there are plenty of indications that Nagelsmann would bring a more entertaining style of play to N17.

He was the talk of the tie as Sporting knocked Arsenal out of the Europa League, assisting in the first leg and scoring a wonder goal at the Emirates back in March. Prior to his Europa League involvement, the 24-year-old featured in the Champions League, where he assisted against Tottenham Hotspur.

Swansea boss Russel Martin has lauded the 21-year-old’s “willingness to work” and explained his playing style as one where he can "show people how good he is" through his desire to be involved so often.

A successful loan spell has come at the perfect time for the midfielder, who now faces the opportunity to impress Lopetegui this summer before the Premier League season gets back underway in August.

Time will tell if Cundle can imprint his talent on the Spaniard’s plans, but there is little to question regarding the talent he possesses. He could well be the perfect man to replace Neves should he leave.

Chelsea have made contact with Inter Milan to let them know that they are happy to sign their goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer, according to reports.

What's the latest on Onana to Chelsea?

Todd Boehly is reportedly set to enter the market for a new number one during the upcoming window despite Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga's contracts both not expiring for another two years, and with Mauricio Pochettino appearing likely to be taking over from Frank Lampard at the end of the season after reaching a verbal agreement to become manager, he would be expected to have an input on any fresh faces.

The Athletic first credited the Blues with an interest in Onana three years ago, so they are clearly long-term admirers of their £65k-per-week target, and the Premier League outfit were given a huge boost in their pursuit back in February after being alerted to his potential availability with the Serie A giants needing to offload some of their most prized assets to raise transfer funds, something that the owner is now looking to capitalise on.

According to 90min, Chelsea, alongside top-flight rivals Tottenham Hotspur, have both "indicated" to Inter that they are "willing" to sign Onana ahead of the 2023/24 season. The Stamford Bridge side are happy to complete a deal for the shot-stopper, who they have been "closely monitoring", for a cut-price, and would be open to sending Kepa or Mendy the opposite way in a part-exchange switch.

Having been hailed a "charismatic" player between the sticks by talent scout Jacek Kulig, not to mention his excellent track record, we think Onana would be the perfect man to take hold of the No 1 gloves in SW6.

The Cameroon World Cup participant has also recorded 46 saves from 63 shots on target against, giving him a save percentage of 74.6%.

Finally, Onana has a very strong range of passing when playing out from the back having completed all of his 171 short passes and 308 of his 316 medium passes this term, via FBref, so is a well-rounded 'keeper and one that we think would only excel further under the guidance of Pochettino.

Tottenham Hotspur have made an "important proposal" to Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti as chairman Daniel Levy keeps up the hunt for a new manager, according to reports.

Who could Spurs appoint as manager?

The north Londoners, well over a month after parting company with former head coach Antonio Conte, are said to be stepping up their chase for his replacement.

Reports in the last week have suggested that Levy has completed the due-diligence stage of his search, having assessed multiple candidates whilst holding discussions with the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique (The Evening Standard).

As well as the Lilywhites, it is also believed Roma are potentially eyeing him to replace Jose Mourinho.

When asked about Spalletti's future, Bargiggia explained:

“Why did the manager release certain statements [Napoli exercising one year extension], proving to be rather cold on the hypothesis of a renewal? The problem is that the Tuscan had an important proposal from Tottenham. Spalletti earns €2.7m a season, elsewhere they can guarantee him a very high salary.

“Then came two other potential proposals, not yet so concrete. One is PSG, even if Mourinho is more likely to go there. The second is sensational: a return to Rome. I repeat, however, there is nothing official.”

What could Spalletti bring to Spurs?

Possessing both the necessary experience and a proven track record of winning silverware, we believe Spalletti could actually be an exciting option for Levy.

The former Zenit St.Petersburg boss has won a grand total of eight major trophies, including this season's Scudetto, not to mention he encourages an attack-minded brand of football.
