اعترف فودين بأن الهزيمة كانت صعبة، لكنه يتطلع بالفعل إلى رد فعل مانشستر سيتي بعد كأس العالم.
وقال فودين في تصريحات نشرها الموقع الرسمي للنادي: “لقد تعثرنا وخسرنا مباراة كرة قدم، كانت لدينا فرص للفوز بالمباراة بالتأكيد”.
وأضاف: “نحن بحاجة إلى أن ننسى الأمر، وأن نصفى رؤوسنا، ونعود من كأس العالم ونحاول العودة مرة أخرى”.
وواصل: “لسنا معتادين على الحصول على هذا الاستراحة الآن، لذا فإن الدوري سيبدو مختلفًا بعض الشيء هذا الموسم، لكن كما قلت بمجرد أن نعود، نريد أن نبدأ في الفوز بالمباريات مرة أخرى وإصلاح ذلك”.

Bresnan took only one wicket but was sent in to bat at number three and made 25 before heading for Newcastle Airport. He turned a short ball from Richard Pyrah to fine leg for his 14th four to reach his hundred off 156 balls and straight drove the next for another four to bring up the 200 and earn a batting point.

What’s the talk?
According to the Daily Mail, the Magpies are now interested in a deal to sign the Belgian winger as they have added him to their list of potential targets.
The report claims that the Toon are eyeing a move for the £15.3m-rated gem as they look to bolster their squad heading into the 2022/23 campaign. He is out of contract in the summer of 2023 and it remains to be seen whether or not Brighton will be able to pin him down to a new deal.
Howe will love it
Eddie Howe will surely love this prospective swoop from the Tyneside club, as Trossard is a proven Premier League performer who can come in and add to the Magpies’ options out wide.
Toon legend Alan Shearer once dubbed him “outstanding” and it is easy to see why when you look at the 27-year-old’s statistics in the top flight. He has averaged a SofaScore rating of 7.02 this term, after a score of 7.03 last season, and has produced 10 goals and six assists since the start of 2020/21.
This shows that Trossard is delivering consistently impressive displays whilst chipping in with goals and assists from out wide. He has proven that he can perform in the Premier League, as shown by these statistics, and that is why Howe would surely love to have him at St James’ Park.
Instead of bringing in a player without experience in the English top flight, whether they come from the lower leagues or abroad, Newcastle can sign a player that they know can deliver. Whilst it is impossible to guarantee that he will be a good player for the Toon, the statistics suggest that he has a very high chance of being a strong addition to the squad.
It could also be a fantastic move by the club from a financial point of view. If Brighton are unable to tie down Trossard to a new deal, PIF could strike a bargain for the Belgian as they could tempt the Seagulls into selling for a cut-price fee.
Albion will lose him for nothing next year if he does not put pen to paper on an extension, and the Magpies can use that as leverage to secure a great piece of business.
It is now down to PIF to make sure that they are able to convince Brighton to part ways with the Belgian ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, as Howe will be buzzing if he is able to work with the 27-year-old next term.

The ICC has launched an investigation into the third one-day international between England and Pakistan at The Oval after it received information from a newspaper before the game began alleging that bookies were aware of certain scoring patterns that occurred during the match.The ICC stated that “a full investigation is warranted”, confirming that the information it received in advance about certain scoring patterns during the game appeared to be correct. The information was passed on to the ICC by , which said it was based on details of calls between a person based in Dubai and a bookie in Delhi.The ICC, however, clarified that it was premature to suggest anything untoward had occurred during Pakistan’s 23-run victory on Friday.”A source informed newspaper that a certain scoring pattern would emerge during certain stages of the match and, broadly speaking, that information appeared to be correct,” Haroon Lorgat, the ICC chief executive, said.”We therefore feel it is incumbent upon us to launch a full enquiry into this particular game, although it is worth pointing out at this stage that we are not stating as fact that anything untoward has occurred. Only in the fullness of the investigation can that be established.”The Pakistan board was unwilling to comment until further details were available, though PCB chairman Ijaz Butt arrived in Dubai on Saturday from Delhi. It isn’t clear whether the chairman was scheduled to fly back to Pakistan via Dubai or whether the latest allegations prompted the trip to the headquarters of the game’s governing body. Newcastle United are now targeting Brighton winger Leandro Trossard, according to The Daily Mail’s Simon Jones.
The lowdown
The Belgium international, who joined Brighton from Genk in the summer of 2019 for £15m, is five games short of a century of appearances in the Premier League.
In his 95 top-flight outings to date, he has scored 15 goals and provide nine assists. He is a regular for Graham Potter’s side, starting 27 of their 31 Premier League matches so far in 2021/22.

Valued at £15.3m by Transfermarkt, the 27-year-old is out of contract in just over 14 months’ time.

Jones wrote in The Daily Mail that Newcastle are expected to sell Allan Saint-Maximin this summer and reinvest the funds in a replacement winger.
Trossard is one of the players they have identified as a potential successor to the Frenchman, with extensive scouting reports currently being compiled.
Encouragingly for Newcastle, the Belgian is apparently keen to leave the Amex Stadium come the end of the season.
The verdict
Trossard would be a good successor to Saint-Maximin at Newcastle.
His tally of five goals this season may not be spectacular, but it’s worth stressing that Brighton are a low-scoring team. Indeed, only Burnley and Norwich City have netted fewer goals the Seagulls in the Premier League this term.
Furthermore, it matches the tally of Saint-Maximin at St James’ Park.
Newcastle know first-hand how good the 27-year-old can be after his man-of-the-match display in the 1-1 draw between the two teams at the Amex Stadium in November.
In addition to converting a penalty (which he won himself), Trossard created three chances, completed four out of five long passes and drew four fouls, earning him a SofaScore rating of 8.2/10.
He’s also won praise from Newcastle great Alan Shearer, who said that the ‘magnificent’ Albion winger boasts an ‘excellent’ all-round game.
If he’s good enough for Shearer, that’s a fairly strong endorsement in our book.

O centroavante, por seu faro goleador e facilidade no drible, passou a ficar mais fixo na última linha ofensiva, mas tem liberdade para a movimentação e na disputa de bola e busca de jogo. Em dois jogos anotou dois gols.
Eduardo Sasha, anteriormente usado como falso 9 quando Jair sacou Rodrigão do time, passou a ajudar Gabriel com a movimentação na frente. O reforço tem boa recomposição e disputa de bola, o que antes o setor não tinha.
Nesta tarde, os centroavantes estarão frente a frente no San-São. Ambas as equipes foram derrotadas nos clássicos que disputaram (Corinthians 2×1 São Paulo; Palmeiras 2×1 Santos). Líderes de seus respectivos grupos no Paulistão, tanto São Paulo como Santos prometem ir ao ataque no Morumbi. A sorte está lançada.
