AGM rescheduling to be discussed

With the Supreme Court having recorded that the BCCI annual general meeting is postponed, the working committee will also decide on rescheduling the meeting.
The Supreme Court’s interim order, following last Friday’s hearing, stated: “Mr CA Sundaram [the board’s counsel] submits that the BCCI AGM scheduled to be held on 20.11.2014 shall be postponed by three weeks. That submission is recorded.”
Once the order clarified the status of AGM, the BCCI members, who were confused about whether only elections were postponed, have started wondering whether the current faction will propose the new AGM date or further delay the meeting.
Former BCCI president Shashank Manohar had raised the question during his statement after last Friday’s court hearing. “If the investigation/ hearing pulls on for several years then will the Board keep functioning under the same set-up?” he had asked.

It also states that Raman had received information about Gurunath Meiyappan and Raj Kundra taking part in betting activities.”This individual knew a contact of a bookie and had contacted him eight times in one season,” the report states. “This individual admitted knowing the contact of the bookies but however claimed to be unaware of his connection with betting activities.”This individual also accepted that he had received information about Individual 1 [Gurunath Meiyappan, whose status as Chennai Super Kings team official was confirmed by the report] and Individual 11 [Raj Kundra, the Rajasthan Royals co-owner] taking part in betting activities but was informed by the ICC-ACSU chief that this was not actionable information. This individual also accepted that this information was not conveyed to any other individual.”With such remarks against Raman, a section of BCCI members feel it is necessary to suspend him until all the proceedings around the Mudgal probe conclude. “When the Rajasthan Royals were alleged of misconduct, the first thing we did was suspend all of them till the internal inquiry was complete,” a BCCI member told ESPNcricinfo, preferring anonymity. “The president [N Srinivasan] also pulled out and appointed a replacement to take care of administrative affairs [in June 2013], so the same rule should be applied to Sundar as well.”The BCCI hierarchy, however, is likely to adopt a more cautious approach – “generous” as termed by another member – towards Raman, who is considered to be one of the most influential officials of the BCCI after Srinivasan and the latter’s shadow in the ICC. After taking legal advice, the BCCI hierarchy is of the opinion that it would be “unfair to suspend a senior employee without hearing his side”. “If the house is not convinced with his explanation, then definitely he can be suspended,” a member of the ruling faction said.The BCCI hierarchy has invited many non-working committee member associations as “special invitees” for the meeting. It is understood that barring Madhya Pradesh and Saurashtra, at least one representative from the remaining 28 full members of the board will attend the meeting.Like the five BCCI vice-presidents, the special invitees do not have a vote in the working committee but they can express their views. By inviting virtually all the associations, including Maharashtra who were one of the leading voices against Srinivasan last year, the BCCI hierarchy is, according to an official, attempting to create an impression that it is “not an autocratic but a democratic body.”Despite the presence of most BCCI members, the likelihood of dissent against Srinivasan is expected to be remote. Sharad Pawar, the Mumbai Cricket Association president, and Shashank Manohar, the former BCCI president – two of Srinivasan’s most vocal and influential critics – will not be attending the meeting and it is unlikely that the other members will try and question the current regime.

Somerset’s confusing start to the new season continued here with a second consecutive innings defeat, giving every pundit who had made them favourites for the title this season cause to wonder if they have made a serious error of judgment.This was not a humiliation on the scale of their calamitous opening against Warwickshire at Taunton, where the margin required a trawl through the record books back to 1895 to find something worse. It was a thumping nonetheless, set up by a debut century from the Sri Lankan allrounder, Farveez Maharoof, and completed midway through the final session on day three when a stumping for the excellent Gareth Cross to remove Ajantha Mendis put Somerset out of their agony, bowled out for 163.The result may also require a reassessment of Lancashire’s prospects. Considered by some to be among those who might find the season a struggle, particularly with only a small squad at their disposal and a heavy dependence on their veterans, Glen Chapple and Gary Keedy, to take their wickets, Lancashire’s record after two matches is the exact opposite of Somerset’s.After winning both their matches by an innings, they sit proudly at the top of the early First Division table, and while that may not mean a lot in April, the lessons of recent history are that an early-season roll can be the bedrock of a successful summer.It was suggested to me that Somerset’s humbling at the hands of Warwickshire might not have been a bad thing, however painful, if it reminded them that they cannot expect the title to fall into their laps, even if they have all the credentials. Under CLT20 guidelines, Narine may request for an official assessment from the BCCI’s suspect bowling action committee. Narine has been placed on the tournament’s ‘warning list’ but will still be able to play. However, if he is reported again while still on the warning list, he will be suspended from bowling for the remainder of the tournament.Narine claimed figures of 3 for 33 in his four-over spell during the win over Dolphins. The Knight Riders next match will be in the tournament semi-finals on October 2. He is the fourth bowler to be reported during the tournament, joining Mohammed Hafeez and Adnan Rasool of Lahore Lions and Prenelan Subrayen of Dolphins. Being reported in the CLT20 has no impact on a bowler’s participation in international cricket.Narine is currently the leading wicket-taker in this year’s CLT20 with 11 wickets in four games at an average of 7.45, also the best in the tournament. He also has the most wickets in the six-year history of the CLT20, accumulating 38 in 19 matches, eight more than Dwayne Bravo and Doug Bollinger. وتابع: “أنت رأيتني في العزاء وركضت سريعًا لأنك جبان، (لو كنت شفتك كنت هكلك علقة) أريدك أن تجهز نفسك لحلقة يوم الجمعة المُقبل”.

وواصل: “شوبير يتحدث عن رحيل زكريا الوردي وإصابة إبراهيما نداي، ويقول هذا عملي، (لا إنت رخم) وتم طردك من طنطا، ولو أنت رجل حقًا اسأل محمود الخطيب رئيس الأهلي عن الأموال التي حصل عليها من تركي آل الشيخ، واسئله عن تقرير صندوق تحيا مصر وهل تسلموا الساعات أم لا”.

واستمر: “شوبير يفتعل فتنة، لو رجل قل كم حصلت على عمولة من صفقة صلاح محسن، نحن لا نُخبئ شيئًا، وأنت تُسبب إحراجًا للشركة الراعية، نحن لدينا مستحقات متأخرة بقيمة 20 مليون جنيه عندهم وهم لا يمتلكون أموالًا في الوقت الحالي”.

واختتم: “وجودك في الإعلام وصمة عار، أنت سافرت مع زوجتك إلى السعودية، وزوجتك قالت لـ تركي آل الشيخ ألا توجد ساعات لنا يا ولي النعم.. (اختشي على دمك عيب) شوبير أحد المحميين، وليس من المعقول كل يوم أشتكي للشركة الراعية، كيف تريد أن ترعاني وكل يوم هذا الشخص يهد في النادي”.

Como treinador no clube das Laranjeiras, venceu a Copa do Brasil de 2007. Já foi cotado muitas vezes para treinar o Flamengo. Inclusive, Renato já disse em entrevistas que sonha em dirigir o Rubro-Negro em algum momento.

Vanderlei Luxemburgo

Vanderlei Luxemburgo é querido por vários clubes rivais. Atual treinador do Vasco, viralizou na internet esta semana, uma preleção que Luxa fez antes da partida contra o Palmeiras, no último sábado. Ele levantou a moral da equipe, que saiu da zona de rebaixamento e vem se recuperando no Brasileirão. Está caminhando para ser um dos técnicos reconhecidos no clube.

Luxa também é lembrado com carinho no Flamengo. No Rubro-Negro, ele venceu sete títulos como treinador, entre eles o Carioca de 2011 e a Copa Rio de 91. Luxemburgo também foi jogador do clube na década de 70, conquistando quatro Campeonatos Cariocas. Ele também é sócio do Mengão.

Já em São Paulo, Luxa tem o carinho de três rivais: Palmeiras, Corinthians e Santos. No Verdão, treinou a ótima equipe da Era Parmalat. Foi tetra campeão paulista e bi brasileiro. No Timão, ganhou o Brasileiro de 2001 e o Rio- São Paulo de 1998. Por fim, no Peixe, foi bicampeão paulista e campeão brasileiro em 2004, com Diego e Robinho.

Donizete Pantera

O atacante Donizete Pantera é ídolo do Botafogo e do Vasco. No Glorioso, foi campeão carioca em 90 e um dos principais jogadores da equipe na conquista do Brasileiro de 95. Chegou ao Vasco em 98 e conquistou diversos títulos importantes, entre eles a Libertadores e o Carioca de 98 e o Rio-São Paulo de 99, sendo peça importante nas conquistas.

Serginho Chulapa

O atacante Serginho Chulapa é reconhecido até hoje, tanto entre torcedores do São Paulo, quanto do Santos. No Tricolor, atuou na década de 70, e é simplesmente o maior artilheiro da história do clube, com 242 gols.Nesse período, conquistou o Campeonato Paulista de 75, 80 e 81 e o Campeonato Brasileiro de 77.

No Peixe, conquistou a artilharia do Campeonato Brasileiro e a artilharia e o gol do título no Campeonato Paulista de 84 contra o seu maior rival, o Corinthians. Ao todo, incluindo outras passagens (1983–1984, 1986, 1988 e 1989–1990), marcou 104 gols com a camisa do Santos. É membro da comissão técnica do clube santista.

Gérson

O ‘canhotinha de ouro’ Gérson, marcou época com as camisas de Botafogo, Flamengo e Fluminense. No Fla, atuou entre59 e 63, vencendo o Rio-São Paulo de 61 e o Carioca de 63. Já no Glorioso, foi bicampeão carioca em 67 e 68, além de conquistar o Brasileiro de 68. No Flu, ganhou o estadual de 73, já no fim da carreira de jogador.

Romário

O baixinho Romário marcou época tanto no Vasco, quanto no Flamengo e é querido por ambas as torcidas. O primeiro clube em que ele se destacou foi o cruzmaltino. Lá, ele foi bicampeão carioca de 87 e 88, o Brasileirão de 2000 e a Copa Mercosul, também em 2000. Marcou o seu milésimo gol com a camisa do clube carioca.

Já no Fla, Romário chegou em 95, ganhando os Cariocas de 96 e 99 e a Copa Mercosul de 99. Marcou 81 gols com a camisa Rubro-Negra.

Luizão

Luizão é lembrado com carinho no Palmeiras e no São Paulo. pelo Verdão, venceu o Paulista de 96, marcando 51 gols em 92 partidas pelo clube, sendo um dos principais jogadores do clube na década de 90.

Já no Tricolor, chegou em 2005 e foi campeão paulista e da Libertadores da América. Também marcou época no Corinthians, ganhando o Mundial e o Brasileiro de 2000.
