Red Bull Salzburg boss Jesse Marsch has emerged as the latest contender for the vacant Celtic managerial position.  

The 47-year-old has been tipped to become Neil Lennon’s potential successor by some ex-players recently, with Marsch claiming it is an “honour” to be linked with the Celtic job, describing the role as “interesting”.

The Scottish Sun have now provided an update on the American and the possibility of moving to Parkhead.

They claim that “Hoops chiefs are admirers of Marsch”, who has averaged 2.12 points-per-game during his 82 matches in charge of Salzburg.

The likes of John Collins, Pat Bonner and James McFadden have all touted Marsch as a potential Parkhead boss, and it seems as if their suggestions could come true.

Celtic will reportedly look to bring in a new director of football prior to appointing a new manager, so whoever the DoF is will have to be on board with a possible Marsch swoop.

The American boasts an impressive CV – he won the double in Austria last season and was also named as MLS Coach of the Year with New York Red Bulls in 2015.

It seems as if the Hoops have their eye on Marsch, so he could possibly be making the move to Scotland over the coming months, providing Celtic step up their interest.

ومن المعروف عن المدافع الإنجليزي رغبته في مغادرة ليفربول في ظل تراجع دوره تحت قيادة المدرب يورجن كلوب.

وسبق أن ذكرت تقارير صحفية أن ليفربول لن يعارض رحيل ناثانيل فيليبس إذا رغب اللاعب نفسه في ذلك.

وحسب شبكة “فوتبول لندن” الإنجليزية، فإن نادي واتفورد قدم عرضًا لنظيره ليفربول من أجل ضم ناثانيل فيليبس في فترة الانتقالات الشتوية لهذا العام.

وأشارت إلى أن القيمة المالية لذلك العرض بلغت 7 ملايين جنيه إسترليني.

وأوضحت أنه بالرغم من ذلك، فإن ليفربول رفض عرض واتفورد حيث حدد سعر بيع اللاعب صاحب الـ24 عامًا بـ12 مليون جنيه إسترليني.

يُذكر أن ناثانيل فيليبس شارك في 3 مباريات فقط في الموسم الحالي، ولم يخض أي مباراة في الدوري الإنجليزي.

Graeme Souness has spoken out on reports linking fellow Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane with the Celtic job.

The Sun revealed earlier this month that the former Hoops midfielder is keen to return to the dugout and would be interested in the vacant Celtic role, should they come calling.

Keane’s Celtic snub

Keane, who was offered the job back in 2014, was last in charge of a club back in 2011 with Ipswich Town. Since then, the Irishman has been an assistant with Ireland, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.

Talking in his column for The Times, cited by the Glasgow Evening Times, Souness name-checked his Sky colleague Keane for the Celtic job, claiming it would ‘be great for the Scottish game’.

“Don’t expect Celtic to roll over and accept this as the norm. They will respond this summer.

“I can’t second guess their board, but if they went for Roy Keane, as a report suggested, it would light the touch paper and be great for the Scottish game because people throughout football and far beyond Scotland would be talking about the rivalry with those two personalities in charge.”

Transfer Tavern take

If the club approach Keane and he indeed makes the move back to Glasgow, it could spark a fierce rivalry with Rangers boss Steven Gerrard.

The pair came up against each other during their respective playing careers with Manchester United and Liverpool, and Keane refused to congratulate Gerrard and Rangers following their Scottish Premiership title win.

In terms of experience, it could be a risk to hand Keane the job, however, we’re sure he’d provide plenty of entertainment in the Parkhead dugout.

Many Sheffield Wednesday fans are reacting to a tweet from Dom Howson discussing the future of winger Kadeem Harris.

There are reports suggesting Middlesbrough are tracking Harris and Howson said that this was ‘accurate’, whilst also tweeting he believes ‘Boro’s interest is 100 per cent legit’. The links make sense as Neil Warnock worked with Harris at Cardiff. One Owls fan called him a ‘one trick pony’ in reaction to the news.

The 27 year-old is also attracting interest from fellow Championship sides Stoke City, Reading and Watford, so it looks like his future will be elsewhere, especially if the Owls get relegated.

This looks very likely with the club closer to the bottom of the division than they are to safety and unless results start changing, they will get relegated to League One without even a fight.

Losing your last five games in a row is horrendous, and Harris is clearly seen as one of the few bright sparks by people on the outside looking in. However, his stats don’t show this as he is yet to score a single goal, whilst he has picked up only three assists (WhoScored). With his contract expiring in the summer, it looks inevitable that he will go, and Sheffield Wednesday fans don’t seem too gutted to see him leave.

أعرب توماس توخيل مدرب تشيلسي عن غضبه بعد التعادل أمام برايتون في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، منتقدًا قرارات التحكيم، ومسلطًا الضوء على تعدد الإصابات بين لاعبيه قبل المواجهة القادمة أمام ليفربول.

واقتنص برايتون تعادلًا قاتلًا أمام تشيلسي في الدقائق الأخيرة، وتحدث توخيل عقب المباراة في تصريحات لـ”بي بي سي”، و”أمازون برايم”، وأخرى نشرها موقع “فوتبول لندن”.

وقال توخيل: “التعادل مستحق؟ بالتأكيد لا، كانت لدينا فرص أفضل وركلة جزاء واضحة، تعادل مخيب للآمال للغاية”.

وأضاف: “نحن نكافح ولكن لدينا لاعبان مصابان مرة أخرى، إذا كان الحكم لا يريد أن يعطينا ركلة جزاء عندما تكون ركلة جزاء واضحة 100٪، الظروف ضدنا، إنها ركلة جزاء بنسبة 100٪ لكريستيان بوليسيتش”.

وعاود مدرب تشيلسي الحديث عن الإصابات: “لدينا إصابتان مرة أخرى، هذه هي النقطة ولا شيء آخر، إصابة في أوتار الركبة لريس جيمس، وإصابة في الظهر لأندرياس كريستنسن”.

واستطرد الألماني: “كان من الواضح أننا سنكافح، لدينا ببساطة عدد كبير جدًا من اللاعبين الذين لا نعرف ما يمكننا طلبه، لدينا إصابات، إنهم يأتون من إصابة بفيروس كورونا، أنا ببساطة لا أعرف ما الذي يمكنهم فعله”.

وعن حالة لاعبه تيمو فيرنر، أوضح مدرب تشيلسي أنه غير جاهز: “فيرنر ليس جيدًا، ليس جيدًا،  ليس في التدريب”.

وسُئل توخيل هل خرج فريقه من سباق اللقب أم أنه لا يريد التفكير في الأمر؟، ورد: “كيف يجب أن نكون فيه؟ لدينا 7 حالات كورونا، لدينا خمسة أو ستة لاعبين يغيبون لمدة ستة أسابيع أو أكثر، كيف يجب أن نتنافس في سباق اللقب؟”.

وأفاد: “أي شخص آخر لديه فريق كامل، كل شخص في التدريب لديه القوة الكاملة للدخول في هذا الدوري، سيكون من الغباء أن نعتقد أننا قادرون على فعل ذلك بسبب كورونا والإصابات، مجرد اللعب، وسيكون الجميع أغبياء للقيام بذلك بدون 23 لاعبًا لائقين”.

وعن المباراة القادمة أمام ليفربول المقرر لها يوم الأحد المقبل، شدد توخيل: “لا داعي للتطلع إلى ليفربول، يمكننا محاولة العثور على لاعبين قادرين على اللعب، لم يعد لدينا لاعبين في مركز الظهير، الكل مصاب، نحن بحاجة إلى استيعاب هذا وعدم الحديث عن المباراة المقبلة”.

يذكر أن مانشستر سيتي يتصدر ترتيب الدوري الإنجليزي برصيد 50 نقطة، يليه تشيلسي بـ42 نقطة، ثم ليفربول بـ41 نقطة.

Após o revés, o comandante apareceu na sala de imprensa e fez a sua análise do jogo. Na visão do treinador, o primeiro tempo foi positivo.

‘O primeiro tempo foi muito bom. São coisas positivas em tão pouco tempo. Não seria correto fazer uma avaliação em cima dos jogos, pelo pouco tempo de trabalho. E, independentemente dos resultados, foram partidas bem aproveitadas. A equipe teve equilíbrio e maturidade’, afirmou.

Na Libertadores do ano passado, por exemplo, o camisa 18 foi relacionado apenas cinco vezes, sendo que em três delas nem saiu do banco de reservas. – A capacidade de finalização do Luciano é impressionante, apesar de estar retornando de processo todo. Ele tem presença de área maior que o Danilo, então terá a chance – justifica o técnico do Corinthians.
