وجه مرتضى منصور رئيس مجلس إدارة نادي الزمالك، رسالة لمحمود الخطيب نظيره في الأهلي، مشيرًا إلى أن كل لاعب رحل عن الفريق الأبيض كان بقرار من جوسفالدو فيريرا المدير الفني.

ويعقد الزمالك برئاسة مرتضى منصور مؤتمرًا صحيفًا للحديث عن العديد من الأمور المهمة الخاصة بالنادي.   

وقال مرتضى في تصريحات خلال المؤتمر الصحفي المنعقد حاليًا: “(قولوا للخطيب يرجع الـ263 مليون جنيه والساعات)، أتحدى إنه يكون أودعها لصندوق تحيا مصر، فليصدر بيانًا بهذا الأمر لكي يظهر أنه صادق، وأنا سأقول يحيا محمود الخطيب”.

وتابع: “(أنا مش شحات) والمليون دولار التي أرسلها تركي آل شيخ لنا، أدخلتها حساب النادي، والزمالك عظيم ونادي الوطنية والكرامة والكبرياء على مدار تاريخه، ومن يتكلم عنه يتكلم بكل أدب واحترام”.

وتطرق للحديث عن عقد محمد صبحي الذي عاد إلى صفوف الفريق من فاركو، قائلا: “عقده سليم ١٠٠% ، فاركو كان من المفترض أن يدفع قيمة الصفقة يوم 31 أغسطس الماضي، لكنهم لم يدفعوا”.

وأوضح:”والخطاب الذي أرسلوه للزمالك ينص على استعداد نادي فاركو لسداد المبلغ، وكنا أنهينا الصفقة بشكل رسمي وقررنا عودته، (كلام أكتر من كده هنوقف النشاط)، ومبروك على الزمالك محمد صبحي”.

وعن اللاعبين الراحلين قال: “مع احترامي لكل من رحل عن الفريق، ولكن جوسفالدو فيريرا هو من قرر رحيل عمر السعيد وأيمن حفني وحازم إمام وإسلام جابر”.

وأختتم: “أيضًا فيريرا هو من قرر رحيل مروان حمدي، ولا أستطيع فرض رأيي على المدرب وفرض اسم معين عليه”.

Less than two weeks after clinching the Quaid-e-Azam trophy at the National Stadium, Karachi Blues were jolted by Sialkot at the same ground on the opening day of the Pentangular Cup. It was a less eventful day at the National Bank of Pakistan sports complex where the Quaid-e-Azam losing finalists, Habib Bank Limited, fought back from a poor start against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited. HBL had been bowled out for 195 and 66 in the final against Karachi, and a similarly inept batting performance looked on the cards when they slipped to 34 for 3. That included the wicket of Younis Khan, whose dreadful form continued in domestic cricket, falling for a 23-ball 9. A much-changed Manchester United secured a 1-1 draw with BSC Young Boys at Old Trafford in their final Champions League encounter in Group F.

Ralf Rangnick made a full 11 changes to the side that featured from the off in the victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday, handing first starts of the season to teenagers Anthony Elanga and Amad Diallo.

Donny van de Beek controlled proceedings in the middle of the park and put his name firmly in the hat for more consistent outings under the new regime.

As per SofaScore, the Netherlands international had a whopping 92 touches throughout the 90 minutes, won nine of his 11 duels (82%) and picked out a teammate with three of his four attempted long balls.

The 24-year-old finished the game with a passing accuracy of 84% and successfully completed both of his dribbles, yet it was defensive contribution that really caught the eye.

Van de Beek made six tackles – at least two more than any of his teammates – pulled off three interceptions, two clearances and one block, highlighting his hugely effective display at both ends of the pitch.

His part in Young Boys’ equaliser was the only blot on the former Ajax ace’s copybook, and he’ll be hoping Rangnick can look past his single error as he bids to become a regular fixture in the starting lineup.

Aston Villa will be looking to make it three wins in four under new manager Steven Gerrard as they host Midlands rivals Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

The West Midlands side have been excellent since the 41-year-old’s appointment, beating Brighton 2-0 and Crystal Palace 2-1 before narrowly losing 2-1 to Manchester City on Wednesday evening.

Gerrard is expected to be without striker Danny Ings once again as well as left-back Matt Targett who suffered a head injury against City. Winger Leon Bailey was also withdrawn against the reigning champions, however, he will be sidelined for “a number of weeks” after suffering a thigh injury.

Their opponents, however, aren’t in the best form, winning just one of their last five Premier League outings. However, they are only three points off of the top six in tenth.

However, there is certainly an opportunity for Villa to capitalise on and take another three points against Brendan Rodgers’ side. Here’s how Football FanCast expects the Villans to line up against the Foxes, with just two changes from the side that lost out to Manchester City.

As expected, there’s no change in between the sticks as Emi Martinez maintains his rather unchallenged spot in goal, looking for a second clean sheet in four games.

There will be one change in the back four in front of the Argentine, with Ashley Young replacing the injured Matt Targett; a straightforward swap at left-back. The 36-year-old will be accompanied by Tyrone Mings, Ensri Konsa and Matty Cash in defence.

With Gerrard maintaining his preferred 4-3-3 formation, the midfield will be key and there appears to be no reason as to why the central trio that started against City should be tinkered with here. Marvelous Nakamba, Douglas Luiz and John McGinn are expected to link up once again in the middle of the park.

The second change sees 18-year-old Carney Chukwuemeka deployed out wide for just his second Premier League start and his first in over three months. The £2.25m-rated youngster has reportedly rejected a new contract amidst frustration with a lack of first-team action.

However, Gerrard brought the Englishman on for 23 minutes against Manchester City on Wednesday night and could be tempted to hand the midfielder a start.

With both Leon Bailey and Bertrand Traore sidelined for the foreseeable future, an opportunity against Leicester could be the start of Gerrard’s bid to convince the starlet to sign a new contract at Villa Park.

Alongside Chukwuemeka up front should be Emi Buendia on the other flank and Ollie Watkins at striker after his goal against Manchester City on Wednesday. Straightforward enough.

Matthew Mott, the New South Wales coach, believes the key to a strong charge at the Champions League Twenty20 depends on his two fresh-faced opening batsmen. While the Blues have a talent-heavy bowling line-up for the lucrative tournament, including Brett Lee and Stuart Clark, Mott wants Phillip Hughes and David Warner, two of his youngest men, to ignite the team.The left-handers, who remain in Australia’s international plans, will be called on for explosive starts during the competition, which begins in Delhi on October 9. “The key to our success is our opening batting combination,” Mott said. “That’s the thing that can set up your game. As a bowling side you want to take three wickets in the first six overs, as the batting team you want to set the foundation. If we can start well with the bat we’ll have a good chance of competing in the tournament.”Warner, 22, is a tiny but powerful hitter who is trying to shake off a reputation as a Twenty20 specialist while Hughes, 20, has played only Tests for Australia. Neither man has secured a long-term spot in the national set-up and they can enhance their short-form credentials in India.The pair worked well during the Blues’ warm-up games in Lismore over the past week and Mott was impressed with the combination. “Hughes and Warner just seem to be a really good mix, they both play a bit differently,” he said. “At different stages either of them have stepped up the tempo and the other one has taken a back seat. They’ve had a very mature approach.”New South Wales, Australia’s domestic Twenty20 champions, leave for India on Friday and will be without the injured Nathan Bracken (knee), Michael Clarke (back) and Brad Haddin (finger). However, they still have an envious squad thanks to the internationals Lee, Clark, Simon Katich, Nathan Hauritz and Doug Bollinger.”It’s a big buzz for all of our guys,” Mott said of the big names returning. “We’re used to having the players come in and out and it’s always great when they come back and share their experience with the rest of the squad. In this competition everyone is excited, whether they’ve played a lot of international cricket or not.”Mott has significant coaching experience in Twenty20 after being an assistant for two years in the IPL with the Kolkata Knight Riders. The side finished last earlier in the year, resulting in a major coaching overhaul, and Mott has learned some lessons.”It’s really just about getting off to a good start,” he said. “It’s such a tough format that if you get on the back foot it’s really hard to recover quickly. That’s the thing I’ll be trying to impress on the guys, we have to switch on from the first ball of the tournament. You can’t afford a bad couple of overs in Twenty20.”New South Wales and Victoria fine-tuned in Lismore and the teams will face each other again in another warm-up in India next week. Both sides play on the second day of the tournament, with the Blues running into the Eagles and the Bushrangers up against the Delhi Daredevils.
