Fábio Braga, filho e representante de Abel Braga, confirmou nesta quinta-feira ter conversado com Santos, Flamengo e mais um clube mantido em sigilo sobre a possibilidade de contar com o técnico para 2019. O treinador deu uma pausa em sua carreira em junho deste ano, deixando o Fluminense 11 meses após a morte um filho de 19 anos.
– Do Flamengo, houve uma consulta. Mesma coisa do Santos, um contato. Não se falou em tempo de contrato , valores e proposta. Queriam saber como seria o ano. Teve ainda um terceiro time, que é melhor não falar o nome – disse Fábio Braga, em entrevista ao site Globo Esporte.
O presidente do Santos, José Carlos Peres, já tentou o técnico no início e no meio deste ano, mas Abel recusou as propostas – a primeira, por estar no Flu, e a segunda, por querer voltar a trabalhar apenas no começo da temporada 2019. Peres já descartou dez nomes de técnicos e demonstrou priorizar o carioca.

No Fla, o nome de Abel Braga ganhou força internamente desde sua saída do Fluminense, antes da Copa do Mudo. Na época, Maurício Barbieri estava no comando do Flamengo de forma interina, mas acabou sendo efetivado durante a pausa para a Copa do Mundo. Abelão, por sua vez, não chegou a ser procurado pelo Flamengo no meio do ano, uma vez que deixou claro que só trabalharia a partir de janeiro.
O treinador nutre carinho pelo Flamengo, onde trabalhou em 2004 e conquistou o Campeonato Carioca. Para Abel, a passagem pela Gávea foi um aprendizado e marcou sua carreira, que deslanchou nos anos seguintes.
A eleição presidencial do Flamengo, a ser realizada no próximo dia 8, tem duas chapas como favoritas: a Rosa, do candidato Ricardo Lomba, e a Roxa, de Rodolfo Landim. Os dois grupos viam Renato Gaúcho como nome ideal para comandar o Rubro-Negro na próxima temporada, mas o Grêmio, anunciou nesta quinta-feira a renovação de contrato com o técnico. Even in the instant world of Twenty20, it takes some believing that a single over can change the mindset of a team, never mind the player involved. But the 32 runs that Jos Buttler took off one over from Wayne Parnell in the final dregs of the English summer has become emblematic for an England squad seeking proof that they have the capacity to win the World Twenty20.Before his Edgbaston escapade, Buttler was just another skilful young player seeking to justify the faith shown in him. After one brief but violent assault he has instantly become one of the most talked-about players in town. “Which one is Jos Buttler?” is now a contender for the top ten questions in the hotel lobby, proudly ranked alongside other essentials like “is my room ready yet?” and “can you give me some change for the tuk-tuk driver”.For more than a year, Buttler’s T20 career was stillborn. He had 10 caps, but in six innings had reached double figures only once. Those who had watched him at Somerset yearned for his ability to overflow. But he got out twice in Dubai to his signature ramp shot and as well as enquiring of the batting coach, he even asked the team psychologist, Mark Bawden, if he should keep playing it. Bawden told him to trust his instincts as sports psychologists tend to do.Buttler, as he did in the aftermath of Edgbaston, spoke in Colombo of the confidence this has brought him, that he “feels calmer, more myself, more relaxed,” that his ability to repay the faith has given him a greater sense of belonging. That can only be a good thing; it means you must have done something right for sides to know who you are.”But it is the positive impact that Buttler’s innings has made upon the England team that is so striking. England admittedly are defending champions, but they do not play much T20 and have little involvement in IPL. As one of the last sides to arrive in Sri Lanka, they could easily feel like visitors rather than contenders.Eoin Morgan, who in the absence of Kevin Pietersen is the batsman with IPL-cred, enthused about the wider impact of Buttler’s innings. “It was absolutely brilliant,” he said. “It gives everyone else around them belief that he can perform at any given time especially when it is to that extremity.”I’ve been watching Jos train for nearly a year now, and he’s phenomenal. We’ve all been waiting for this to evolve. The fact it has now is awesome for his own confidence, knowing that he can pull out a performance like that, and it is also great for the team.”It wasn’t easy for him in Dubai where it was reverse swinging, and it was among his first couple of innings. There were a lot of contributing factors to why he didn’t have a chance to go out and play the way he could. It is very timely he has now. Os 16 clubes foram divididos em quatro grupos. Na primeira fase, cada time joga em turno único com as equipes dos outros três grupos e os dois melhores de cada chave avançam para a fase mata-mata da competição, que será decidida em jogos de ida e volta, com a última partida na casa do clube com a melhor campanha. O torneio terá início no dia 20 de janeiro, e a grande final acontecerá em 21 de abril.
A tecnologia no Paulistão será implantada pela Hawk-Eye Innovations, empresa responsável pela utilização do árbitro de vídeo na Copa do Mundo da Rússia, neste ano. A federação será responsável pelo custo integral do VAR nas 14 partidas da fase mata-mata (cerca de R$ 30 mil por jogo).
O Paulistão 2019 também contará com a livre inscrição dos atletas formados nas categorias de base dos clubes. Cada time poderá inscrever 26 jogadores, além dos garotos da base.
Vale ressaltar que a partir do próximo ano, a venda do mando de campo para o estádio do adversário estará vetada. Por exemplo: se o Bragantino enfrentar o Palmeiras nas quartas de final, o time do interior não poderá mandar a partida para o Allianz Parque. Porém, o jogo poderá ser realizado na cidade do rival. Nesse caso, o Bragantino poderia jogar no Pacaembu.

Nottingham, July 7, 2007. Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels had a 15-run partnership during a 93-run victory against England. Little did they know then that it was the last time they would bat together in an ODI for five years. Both batsmen were kept out of the West Indies side for different reasons but on July 7, 2012, Gayle and Samuels, both Jamaicans, renewed their association and marked the occasion with centuries against New Zealand at Sabina Park.Gayle made 125 off 107 balls, his 20th one-day century, which took him past Brian Lara’s West Indies record of 19. For Samuels, the unbeaten 101 was only his third hundred but it was his first in the Caribbean. Their 129-run partnership for the third wicket was the highest in West Indies total of 315 and set up a 55-run victory.”I played exactly the way I wanted to today,” Samuels, who was Man of the Match, said. “Chris set the stage with his power at the top of the innings and then I was able to come in and add the finishing touches. It was an enjoyable day for me and the team. It was special to do it with so many people who have done so much for me in my life watching.”It is my first hundred in the Caribbean, the others have been away. The others have been out of my ‘comfort zone’ … but this one has been in my ‘comfort zone’. It’s been a while since I last batted with Chris, so batting with him today was wonderful.”Gayle hit nine sixes in his innings and could have gone on to make a huge score had he not been dismissed in the 38th over. O Palmeiras deu adeus à edição de 2019 da Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior nesta terça-feira, com a derrota por 2 a 1 para o Figueirense, nas oitavas de final. João Diogo e Bruno foram os jogadores que marcaram para a equipe catarinense, que segue na competição sub-20. Josué fez o do Verdão. Nos acréscimos, Léo Passos empatou a partida, mas o árbitro assinalou de forma incorreta o impedimento.
O primeiro gol, de João Diogo, saiu ainda no primeiro tempo, em uma cobrança de falta. O chute foi no canto do goleiro Matheus Teixeira, mas bem colocado, e o goleiro não conseguiu pegar. Na etapa final, em um contragolpe, Bruno chutou no meio do gol, e desta vez contou com a colaboração de Matheus.
O lateral-direito Marcus Meloni foi um dos palmeirenses mais perigosos na partida. Primeiro, acertou um forte chute para a defesa do goleiro Vinicius, e depois carimbou a trave em boa cobrança de falta. O camisa 2, porém, livrou-se do risco de ser expulso, pois o árbitro não viu uma cabeçada dada por ele em um jogador do Figueira.
No abafa, Josué ainda descontou e deu fôlego ao Verdão nos minutos finais. Dependendo de cruzamentos,Lincon desviou a bola de cabeça no travessão, e Léo Passos na sobra fez o gol. Ireland and Scotland have been handed a financial boost by the ICC after being the first two Associate nations to receive a US$500,000 funding bonus.The two countries will received the cash injection, which has come from the ICC’s targeted assistance and performance programme (TAPP), for the next three years and it is part of the ICC’s aim to develop greater competition below the Full Members.Ireland have been the stand-out Associate in recent years with notable scalps at the last two World Cups by beating Pakistan in 2007 and England in 2011 and have recently stated an ambitious ten-year plan to become a Test nation.Warren Deutrom, the Cricket Ireland chief executive, said: “We are delighted and grateful to ICC for this award which will help Cricket Ireland achieve their stated objectives. We shall be exploring in greater detail the award and terms of the grant with ICC management in order to ascertain how to prioritise the funding towards the proposals that we outlined in our applications.”Scotland intend to use the money to help line up more high-profile matches against the top international sides at both home and abroad.Their chief executive Roddy Smith said: “We are obviously delighted by today’s ICC board decisions. The additional support will enable us to enhance our national team programme over the next three years and support our young developing side in continuing their recent progress.”Since 2009 we have been in the top three associate sides in 50-over and multi-day cricket and this fact along with our ambitious application has enabled us to be one of the first two members to be awarded TAPP funding. The hard work will start now in putting these additional plans into action.”Meanwhile, Scotland have also been successful in lobbying the ICC to give them permission to select players with Scottish parentage and by-pass a problem created by the lack of Scottish passports. The current situation is caused by the ICC’s eligibility criteria being based on nationality as defined by birthplace or passport.As Scotland does not issue its own passports, and the British passport is not accepted as it covers numerous ICC members, players who have Scottish born parents but were themselves born outside of Scotland were not eligible unless they moved to Scotland for a four year qualification period.”The issue has been a prominent one for a number of years and we welcome the decision to allow players with Scottish parentage to be able to apply to the ICC for exceptional circumstances,” Smith said. “As the Scottish passport does not exist, and parentage is not a recognised criterion, it has meant that many potential players who have one or both parents born in Scotland have been ineligible to play if they were born outside the country. Cricket was almost unique in Scottish sport by being unable to select such players.”

O garoto de 19 anos de idade já jogou no profissional, e fez inclusive um gol, contra o Novorizontino, pelo Campeonato Paulista. São seis partidas para ele no time de cima, sendo a última delas o empate em 1 a 1 com o Flamengo, pela 12ª rodada do Brasileiro, antes da pausa para a Copa do Mundo.
Com Felipão, Papagaio tem participado com frequência dos treinos e já foi relacionado para alguns jogos no Brasileiro, quando a equipe principal está descansando. Nos treinos antes do Dérbi do domingo passado, chegou a ser usado com os titulares, mas Deyverson foi quem jogou e fez o gol da vitória.
Na avaliação do treinador, o jovem centroavante “joga bem, é inteligente e protege bem a bola”. Os números em 2018 pelo juniores são ótimos: ele é o artilheiro do Palmeiras no Paulista sub-20 (dez gols em nove jogos) e o artilheiro de todo o Brasileiro sub-20 (sete gols em seis jogos) – ao todo, são 22 gols em 29 gols na temporada. Desses 22, 17 saíram nas últimas 15 partidas.
Papagaio começou a ganhar nome dentro do Palmeiras no futsal. Ele era um destaque no time de salão e chegou a ser campeão sul-americano sub-17. Esta carreira teve de ser interrompida, pois o clube não tem time sub-20 no esporte e ele queria permanecer no Verdão. Por isso, recusou propostas de outras equipes para tentar seguir no futebol.
Além dele, Artur deve ser outro garoto usado por Felipão no jogo deste domingo. O Verdão defende a liderança do returno e tenta manter-se vivo na disputa pelo título brasileiro: hoje, está a três pontos do Internacional, líder, e do São Paulo, segundo colocado.
O lateral-direito Michel Macedo deve assinar ainda nesta quinta-feira contrato para ser oficializado como reforço do Corinthians. O jogador de 28 anos estava livre no mercado e acertou vínculo válido até dezembro de 2021 após passar por exames médicos no clube.
Michel Macedo estava livre no mercado desde junho, quando encerrou seu contrato com o Las Palmas (ESP). A proximidade da contratação foi confirmada pela diretoria do Corinthians após a vitória sobre o Flamengo, que garantiu a vaga na final da Copa do Brasil, na última quarta-feira.
Revelado pelo Flamengo e com passagem pelo Atlético-MG, Michel Macedo só poderá atuar pelo Corinthians na próxima temporada, já que o período de inscrições para o Brasileiro e Copa do Brasil já acabou. No entanto, ele será integrado imediatamente para começar a preparação e adaptação para o ano que vem.
Para a lateral direita, o Corinthians tem atualmente Fagner, titular absoluto mas que tem passado por problemas de lesão, e o jovem Mantuan, de 19 anos. Fagner, aliás, saiu do duelo contra o Flamengo com problema na coxa esquerda e virou dúvida paras finais contra o Cruzeiro.
